STEM engagement with our local senior school

Since moving to Draycott, and out of the countryside, one of the things we've really tried to get involved with, is our local community. You may remember at Christmas time, we opened our doors to the village to come in and have a look round welcoming over 200 visitors!
Well little did we know, that one of those visitors was actually a technology teacher at our local senior school! Mrs Rowell, from Wilsthorpe Community School joined at the factory once again on 28th February, but this time with 7 year 11 & 12 students, to have a more interactive visit around site. The students had the opportunity to see an ultrasonic sandwich cutter in action, view the brand new robot lidding sandwiches, and chat with some of our staff about their career paths.

We are hoping to launch our own apprenticeship programme in the coming months, and it's great that we already have a group of young people interested in what we do, all based within our local community.
