CNC Sliding Head Setter/ Operator
We are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Sliding Head Setter/ Operator to join our growing team. That person will be capable of setting and operating CNC Star Sliding head machines. Working within our fast-paced workshop based in Draycott, Derbyshire, you will have a strong background in precision machining and a proven track record of producing high-quality components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC Star Sliding Head machine (STAR SR-32J11 Type B) to produce high-quality components in line with engineering drawings and specifications. 
  • Perform rigorous quality checks to ensure components meet tight tolerances and quality standards. 
  • Troubleshoot and adjust machine settings to resolve production issues. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines.

About You:

Essential skills and experience

  • Demonstrated experience in programming, setting, and operating Star Sliding Head machine (STAR SR-32J11 Type B)
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery. 
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team. In-depth knowledge of cutting tools, tool holders, and work-holding fixtures.

Desirable skills and experience

  • Fanuc controls 
  • Mastercam

CNC Laser & Press Brake Section Manager
We are a leading manufacturer of high-technology food processing equipment and have recently made significant investments in expanding our facilities. Our advanced equipment includes a 4x2m fibre flatbed laser, an 8m fibre tube laser, and a 7-axis Amada Press.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Laser & Press Brake Section Manager to oversee and enhance our internal laser cutting, folding, and fabrication section. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career while working with cutting-edge technology in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day machine operation
  • Organise and plan laser cutting, folding, and fabrication processes 
  • Carry out all pre-fold tasks, including programming

CNC Machine Shop Team Leader

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Section Team Leader to join our growing team. That person will be capable of leading the department, programming setting and running machining centres to produce quality parts to specification, checking their own work, using a variety of measuring equipment.

Working within our fast-paced workshop based in Draycott, Derbyshire, your role will see you programming, using Mastercam CAD / CAM software, setting Haas, Doosan and Star machining centres and running off parts to a high quality. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Interpreting technical drawings to produce parts to the drawing specification
  • Where necessary running multiple machines when on running jobs
  • Work with/advise the Mechanical Design Team on manufacturing processes to reduce part cost, complexity, tooling cost and machining time 
  • Able and willing to look at processes to improve productivity where possible to accelerate output within the company
  • Supervise the shop floor activity - 10 machining centres and liaise closely with supporting departments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To provide help and assistance to the Milling and Turning sections.
  • Maintaining tooling levels and specifying new tooling where required.
  • Maintain coolant quality and safety with regular testing.
  • Coordinate with the Production Planner to prioritise and schedule machining orders to ensure efficient departmental operations.
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture within the department.
  • Maximise machine efficiency and utilisation.
  • To ensure company quality procedures and requirements are followed and maintained.
  • Training and development of new and existing staff.
  • To Ensure all Health & Safety and Environmental obligations are met.
  • Address issues within the department using corrective action to resolve.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A suitable engineering qualification would be advantageous. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in CNC Milling and CNC Turning (essential). 
  • Offline or partial offline programming using Cad/Cam software and Mastercam (essential). 
  • Setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres and lathe centres. 
  • Star sliding head machine experience. 
  • Haas control (training will be provided). 
  • Good organisational skills. 
  • Management and planning skills.
  • Good communication skills at all levels.

Fabricator
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator with expertise in TIG welding, rolling sheet metal and pressure vessels fabrication to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work with precision machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain rolling machinery to shape and form sheet metal and fabricate vessels and machines according to specifications. 
  • Read and interpret technical drawings. 
  • Working at the cutting edge with varied techniques and materials Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. 
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and meet project deadlines.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Fabricator with expertise in TIG welding, rolling sheet metal and pressure vessels fabrication
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings. 
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and tools. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Mechanical Design Engineers on a variety of projects
  • Design small parts and components for internal use and customers
  • Create, organise, and improve technical documentation and manuals

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential criteria:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Excellent 3D CAD skills
  • The ability to produce design calculations
  • Understanding of mechanical design theory and complex mechanical systems
  • Monitoring, management and optimisation of your design process
  • Contribute to direction and growth of the design team

Desirable criteria:

  • Hands-on approach, ready to roll up your sleeves in the workshop
  • Experience with compiling BOMs and technical drawings
  • Experience with design of automated machinery
  • Experience within the food manufacturing industry 
  • SolidWorks experience
