CNC Section Team Leader (Day Shift)

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Section Team Leader to join our growing team. That person will be capable of leading the department and running machining centres to produce quality parts to specification, checking their own work, using a variety of measuring equipment.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm

Rate: £18-£20ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Milling and Turning sections to maximise machine efficiency and utilisation. 
  • Coordinate with the Production Planner and Late Shift Leader to prioritise and schedule machining orders to ensure efficient departmental operations. 
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture within the department. 
  • To ensure company quality procedures and requirements are followed and maintained. 
  • Maintaining tooling levels and specifying new tooling where required. 
  • Maintain coolant quality and safety with regular testing. 
  • Training and development of new and existing staff. 
  • To Ensure all Health & Safety and Environmental obligations are met. 
  • Address issues within the department using corrective action to resolve.

About You:

  • A suitable engineering qualification would be advantageous. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in CNC Milling and CNC Turning (essential). 
  • Offline or partial offline programming using Cad/Cam software and Mastercam (desirable). 
  • Setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres and lathe centres. 
  • Sliding head machine experience (desirable). 
  • Haas control (training will be provided). 
  • Good organisational skills. 
  • Management and planning skills. 
  • Good communication skills at all levels.

Rate: £18-£20ph with 15% shift premium

Rate: £15-£18ph

  • Ability to set and operate a CNC Turning machine. 
  • Interpreting technical drawings to produce parts to the drawing specification. 
  • Where necessary running multiple Turning machines when on running jobs. 
  • Working on small batches of high-quality parts with a right first-time attitude. 
  • Able and willing to look at processes to improve productivity where possible to accelerate output within the company.

About You:

  • Experience in setting and operating CNC Turning machines 
  • Working on Fanuc based controls 
  • Reading and interpreting drawings 
  • Self-inspecting work 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team 
  • Excellent time management 
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines with a high level of quality standards achieved

CNC Offline Programmer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Offline Programmer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating CNC machining programs using Mastercam, ensuring that production is cost-effective, timely, and meets the highest industry standards.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm (40 hr/ week)

Rate: £17-£20ph

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop CNC machining programs using Mastercam. 
  • Interpret dimensions from technical drawings accurately. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production processes. 
  • Generate detailed part process documentation. 
  • Collaborate on establishing inspection criteria and addressing manufacturing issues. 
  • Recommend and implement process improvements. 
  • Work under tight deadlines to ensure timely delivery of worktops. 
  • Manage individual workload efficiently while also contributing effectively within a team. 
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Keep the work area clean and maintain machinery and tools. 
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and protocols.

About You:

  • Strong proficiency in Mastercam and CAD/CAM programming. 
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an engineering/ manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and schematics. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide technical support. 
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and within a team. 
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues. 
  • Commitment to maintaining a tidy and safe work area.
